We love Endeavor here at the lodge, the boards are obviously great or we wouldn’t ride them, and their design ethos really sets them apart from the majority of brands in the snowboard market. They recently moved into a cool new office / design lab / studio space in Vancouver and of course immediately set about collaborating with their featured artists to work on it – and documented the process in the film below – and we’ve still got a few spaces left on the Endeavor boardtest week in December where you can check out Meggs Live series art work and ride all the 2012 boards for free
Street, graffiti and fine artist Meggs, of Melbourne Australia, has left his mark on Endeavor Snowboard’s Vancouver design office with a massive outdoor mural.
The artist, who developed the artwork for Endeavor’s Live Series snowboard range, took to the exterior of Endeavor’s new home on Railway Street in the heart of Vancouver for a week in September. Armed with an arsenal of spray cans, stencils, rollers and brushes, he has left a dynamic work of art depicting a “Cold Front” superhero theme on a distinctly Vancouver backdrop.
The first in a series of content films to be released by Endeavor this fall was filmed and directed by Randy Ross and reveals Meggs’ motivations for his creation’s theme and the techniques used to produce the massive work of art. “Creating art in the public domain helps people relate and become more a part of their environment,” says Meggs. “A public art experience is an interactive experience.”
“We are an artist driven company and it has always been a dream of mine to have a work space which is creative and interactive” says Max Jenke, managing director of Endeavor Snowboards. “Having the opportunity to have Meggs do some installations was something we couldn’t pass up.”
Megg’s work can also be seen on the 2012 Live Series from Endeavor Snowboards. “The artwork for those boards are from a series of works I painted for my ‘King For A Day’ exhibition. The imagery features a duality of kings and demons, royalty and morality, which explores society’s obsessions with power, wealth and fame,” says Meggs.
“We are dedicated to bringing fine art to the best quality snowboards. The 2012 line-up of boards feature the most complete collection of graphics we have ever put together and Meggs has certainly done the Live Series justice with his graphic,” says Jenke.
